describes how PCB Library Apps handle information in our mobile applications, including ALO Password. We aim to keep things simple: ALO Password is designed to work locally on your device, without sending your vault data to us.

Who we are

PCB Library Apps is part of [[Your legal entity name, if different]]. Our website is pcblibrary.co.uk.

What data we collect

ALO Password: We do not collect, receive, or process any personal data from your device. The app does not require an account and does not transmit your vault to any server we control.

Other PCB Library apps: Unless a specific app states otherwise in its own in-app notice or store listing, our default approach is no data collection.

What data is stored on your device (ALO Password)

  • Vault entries you create (titles, usernames, notes, URLs, and encrypted passwords) are stored locally on your device.
  • Biometric/PIN unlock uses your device’s built-in authentication. We do not see or store your biometrics, PIN, or device credentials.
  • Imports/Exports you initiate (e.g., encrypted JSON, plain JSON, or Chrome CSV) are files you choose to read from or save to your device or share via your chosen app. We do not receive these files.

Permissions and how we use them

  • Biometrics / Device credentials: Used to unlock ALO Password’s local vault. Handled by the operating system; we never access raw biometric data.
  • File access (read/write): Only used when you choose to import or export your vault. Data remains under your control.
  • Network / Opening links: When you tap “Open link” inside an entry, we ask the system to open your browser to that URL. No vault data is sent with that action.

Third-party services and SDKs

ALO Password does not integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Common open-source libraries are used locally on the device to provide features (e.g., file picking, link launching) but do not send your vault to us.

Advertising

Our apps do not display third-party ads.

Children’s privacy

Our apps are intended for general audiences and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

Security

ALO Password stores your vault locally and uses encryption combined with device-level protection (biometrics/PIN/password) to help prevent unauthorized access on your device. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for safeguarding any exported files you create.

Data retention

Because we don’t receive your vault data, we don’t retain it. Your data lives on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or erase/replace your device. If you export your vault, the exported file will persist wherever you save it until you delete it.

Your choices and controls

  • View/Edit/Delete entries: Manage your entries within the app at any time.
  • Exports: You can export or import your data using the app’s menus. Take care with plain (unencrypted) exports.
  • Uninstall: Removing the app deletes its local data from your device (backups or exported files you created are not removed).

International transfers

We do not transfer your vault data to our servers. If you choose to store backups in your own cloud or share files, those services’ locations, terms, and privacy practices will apply.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our apps or legal requirements. We will post updates on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may also be highlighted in app release notes.
